My crochet hooks have been resting since that awful day in May.
Thinking ‘bout that fateful day can still make my resolve go astray.

I set my project aside; there were more important things to do.
It’s now more than six months later and there are still some things overdue.

On my end, some of these things are trivial; furniture and such.
But some are emotional: photos, objects still say way too much.

But I’m checking on my yarn collection today ‘cause I’m trying not to check my mail.
It’s out of my hands and even if honest, complete, his answer won’t change this tale.

I will pick up my hooks again one day, and start my project again.
I will crochet again, even if just to make one really long chain.
