This is a departure for me, and not what I usually listen to. Of course, I’m familiar with the band. You can’t be married to a musician, a guitar player, for ten years and not have heard more than your fair share of Zeppelin. I even have a Zeppelin t-shirt I work out in.
But the last thing I remember hearing before I fell asleep in the procedure room this morning was the doctor laughing as he reassured me that it was strictly a coincidence that Stairway to Heaven was playing over the speakers. I laughed as I rolled over to my side and that’s the last thing I remember. Next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room and Steve was sitting at my side, waiting for me to wake up so he could take me home. I was happy to hear that everything went smoothly and they didn’t find anything. I don’t need to do it again for ten years!
The colonoscopy prep was not fun, but not as bad as I expected. The worst part was staying up until 1:30 drinking the magic elixir (and realizing what I thought was my last dose was really just the second-to-last dose). Even though I don’t normally eat much in the morning, yesterday I was craving all the foods. By dinner time I was fantasizing about burgers, pizza, anything solid. Today when I got home all I wanted to do though was sleep. When I got up I decided to defy the “no cooking today” orders and made myself some toast and scrambled eggs. That hit the spot.
If you’ve been putting it off, take my advice and get it out of the way. That’s a major to-do item I knocked off my list. Next up in a few weeks is my annual GYN exam and pap. And one of these days I’ll get around to the dentist…
Have a great weekend!
