Music Fridays: O Holy Night

It’s that time of year, so for the next few weeks I’ll share a few of my favorite Christmas songs for the Music Fridays post. I’ve been a fan of Josh Groban since his first album in 2001. I don’t remember now how I happened to hear him for the first time but I fell in love with that voice. One of the qualities I admire and look for in any singer is the ability to make me feel; feel lonely, joyous, sad, powerful, angry. In addition to possessing a beautiful voice, he can move me and transport me with a song.

This song is from his Christmas album and is also one my favorite Christmas songs. I think this might be one of the most beautiful versions of this song that I’ve ever heard. Enjoy. Hope your Christmas holidays are off to a wonderful start.

If you liked this, he’s doing a livestream in a couple of weeks: a full holiday concert.

This is one of my favorites too. My mother’s favorite Christmas hymn was O Holy Night and I find it so ironic that this song came on the radio when she was in hospice and taking her last breaths! I get cold chills every time I hear it now. I also love Celine Dion’s version.
