The Sunday Post: OOTD

This past week I posted cringe-worthy photos of myself on Instagram showing my outfit of the day (OOTD). Yes, they truly were. It wasn’t because they were great or stylish. It was simply because I was wearing something other than leggings, sweatpants, or some other athleisure. After last Sunday’s blog, I thought I needed to do something to get myself out of the funk I was in. So I decided to commit to getting dressed at least three days out of the five-day work week. And I did it! It’s been years, since COVID times, that I put makeup on every day, so I didn’t go that far, and I was still in slippers, but I picked out an outfit, put on a pair of earrings, and took a selfie as evidence that I followed through.

As challenges go it really wasn’t much of one, of course. But it accomplished the goal. I felt better by the end of the week. Midweek I made a delicious and healthy dinner. Check out this recipe if you’re looking something healthy and light and so easy (and you like fish).

I also have to confess that it did help that S was in town for a few days at the end of week. I got the reassurance I needed that I’m important to him and that he misses me. I knew this of course, but hearing it directly from his lips gave me a much-needed boost. He’s back in Savannah now but we have plans to cook together, virtually, next weekend.

I’m feeling better this Sunday. I don’t have the “scaries” today. After S left this morning, I finished up laundry and my library book and then went to get a couple new books. I’m looking through recipes to find something to challenge myself (and S) with, and I’m even using AI to come up with some photography prompts. I miss the Weekly Photo Challenges that I used to participate in here on WordPress.

I don’t expect that this is the end of sad or lonely days for me. I know there will be more. But I’m going to do my best to make them as infrequent as possible.
