There are so many songs I could have picked from this new album: Visiting Hours, Overpass Graffiti, Shivers. Each hit me differently but just as strong. I chose this one because I love its soothing and gentle melody and I think it does an excellent job of describing where I am in my relationship. I’m not suggesting I’m the queen, and he’s definitely no joker (and forget the line about the diamond), but it was a broken road that brought us together, and when I showed my hand (and the tears and heartbreak) he didn’t fold. And the music, those strings… just lovely.

Right now I’m at a point where I’m telling myself not to rush anything. But at the same time, I can feel myself over-compensating by pulling away a little bit. It’s a hard balancing act. Sigh.
