Vision Board Bingo

A while back I saw someone’s take on Vision Board Bingo; I believe it was on Threads. This person had create a Bingo card for themselves with things they wanted to do, achieve, strive for, whatever for each quarter of 2026. It seemed like an actionable way to visualize what they hoped to accomplish this year, or what they wanted it to feel like. It included specific things like “pay off car loan” and “Try 10+ new recipes,” but there were also blocks for “live a healthier lifestyle” or “less screen time.”

It inspired me to create my own. For the first quarter of the year my Bingo card included:

  • read five new books
  • write three letters
  • take the stairs five times
  • host family game night
  • go on a lunch date with a friend
  • 0$ spend weekend
  • take a nature photo

It was a mix of habit-building activities and things that I hoped would improve my quality of life. I’m proud to say that I got Bingo twice! So I tried it again for this second quarter, and maybe I didn’t set my goals high enough, but I’ve already achieved Bingo twice and with this blog post it will be three, with decent chances of completing a couple more blocks this coming weekend.

I think I need to be a little more ambitious next quarter. There are some new habits I’m working on this month that I could add to my card, but it’s kind of embarrassing to have to put these on a Bingo card:

Floss regularly. Yes, I know…. I learned my lesson the hard way after having to suffer through gum graft surgery for one side of my mouth. Hope to not have to repeat that on the other side.

Moisturize daily. I didn’t develop a skin care routine until the last 10-15 years or so, and it was overdue. But I tend to focus on my face and ignore the rest of my skin. I had my first dermatology appointment last month for a skin check and I’m happy to say the worst thing found was some dry skin on my legs.

Stand up and move around. I sit at my desk for too long and ignore my reminders to get up and move every hour. I’m trying to do better.

Toe spacers. I realized I have bunions on my feet. My feet aren’t supposed to look that way. So I try to wear these contraptions on my toes for a while before I go to bed.

Eat breakfast. This is the meal I almost always skip but I’m getting better. Some days it’s just a breakfast bar and other days it’s a couple of hard-boiled or scrambled eggs, but I’m trying do ingest more than just a cup of black coffee. Today I started my day with cereal! Granted, it was not the healthiest cereal choice, but I did eat it before 10 am.

Last night I treated myself to a facial. Is it possible for an experience to be both extremely relaxing and energizing at the same time? Maybe the right term is stimulating. While the aesthetician was massaging my temples, my face, my head, there were all these ideas running through my mind. Ideas for writing projects, mostly, or more accurately, how to move forward with a project that I started and has stalled for some time. I was tempted to take a break and write the ideas down, but I think I was able to remember most of it when I got home. Now I just have to follow through, right?
