The Sunday Post: A Drive in the Park

This week’s bloom was perfectly timed: Have you taken any photos lately and shared with your FB friends?”

Yes, it had been a little while since I shared any new pictures on Facebook or anywhere else, other than the occasional food shot. But on Saturday I was going for a drive and my camera was coming along with me.

These are a few of the pictures from yesterday’s drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. Temperatures were in the 60s, except in the shade where it did feel a bit chilly, and the sun was shining. There were many people out with the same idea, most were wearing masks and respecting social distancing, hanging out in small groups. We stopped at many of the scenic overlooks, looking for “the shot” or “the best view.”

I tried not to spend too much time thinking yesterday. I mostly just enjoyed the view and the company. I put thinking and worrying and feeling sad on hold for a little while. I knew they would catch up with me sooner or later, but I can be pretty good at procrastinating.
