While in the Charleston, South Carolina area on vacation last summer, we went to see the Angel Oak Tree on John’s Island. Believed to be over 1500 years old, it provides 17,000 sq. ft. of shade. Besides the enormity of it, what struck me the most was how quiet everyone was. It seemed to bring serenity to all who stood under its vast canopy.
It’s magical, isn’t it? So glad you got out to it, very few tourists realize it’s there. We locals on the other hand, see it as a natural treasure. Lovely shot.
