The Sunday Post: Reflections

This week the WordPress editors issued a weekly photo challenge asking us to take or find pictures showing either a literal interpretation of the word “reflections” or maybe show a more personal reflection.

I’ve already posted a literal interpretation in my Winning Shots blog, but as I was looking through my photo library I ran across this picture.

Allyson and me

This picture was taken just a few days after my daughter was born.Yesterday she turned twenty-three. I think most parents probably see their child’s birthday not only as a day to celebrate, but also as a day of reflection. I think back to who I was 23 years ago and marvel at how far I’ve come. I look at the woman my daughter has become and I am so proud. Her journey so far has not been easy and it’s certainly had detours and rocky patches. But she’s on the right path.

Yes it does! My “babies” are 24 and 21. I was just thinking today that it seems like yesterday that I was pushing them around in the grocery store cart! Then I blinked my eyes and they were in college!
