Weekly Photo Challenge: Culture

This week WordPress challenged us to show culture with one picture. As I was getting ready to organize the bathroom cabinet, I was inspired to make this my reflection of culture:

Top shelf: a few medical supplies. Pretty conservative, actually.

Middle shelf, left: my son’s supplies (deodorant, hair gel, comb)
Middle shelf, right: my husband’s supplies (shaving cream, deodorant, toothpaste, floss, hair brush, lotion)
Between them, my hair brushes and comb.

Bottom shelf: all my junk. Q-tips, makeup and makeup samples, hair products, clippers, nail files, nail polish, deodorant, perfume, etc., etc.

I’m hoping that I’m actually not as high-maintenance as this picture portrays me. I’m hoping that when I do get around to organizing this cabinet when I’m done with this post, I will find that I have a lot of stuff I don’t use or need and can be thrown away. I know I won’t be able to have just the few items that the guys have. I can’t imagine going to work without makeup, but I do venture out to run errands sometimes without “putting on my face.” Half the hair products shown hardly ever get used as I’m just not very talented that way. And what this picture doesn’t show is the half dozen or so bottles of shampoo and conditioner that are sitting in the cabinet below the sink because I start using them and then decide there must be a different product that will work better on my hair. At least that’s what the ads tell me.
